Beautiful Malta

Wow what a country.   What a hidden Mediterranean gem.  It took some work to get here; three flights to be exact but we did it.  We arrived in the dark of night so we could not see too much.  Our GPS did not include Malta as a European country so thank the Good Lord that Interval International, my timeshare company had great directions.  Remember that Darren was driving on the British side of the road with a manual car, in the dark, in a completely foreign country with a great love for traffic circles.  Bravo I say; he did great!  We did not even take one wrong turn.  We checked in and went to sleep, it was really late.  We had no idea the beauty that we were going to wake up to.
We were staying at the Radisson Island Residence Club on Golden Bay, this timeshare was really nice but once the sun came up we were met by the most glorious view of the Mediterranean Sea from high up on the cliffs where the timeshare was built.  Surrounding the hotel is all these amazing sheer cliffs and precarious hikes but it is something to behold.  We quickly set out for a 3 hour hike and Dax was spent at the end of it, but it was so much fun exploring.  There is a 16th century look out tower built by the Knights of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, apparently there were 17 built around the island but very few remain.  The hotel had a great view of one of them which we also hiked up to.
