Beautiful mall and huge, technically it would be one of the biggest malls in the world if not the biggest mall in the world at 1200 shops.  This mall is at the base of the tallest building in the world the Burj Khalifa.
It is an amazing feat of architecture and it is difficult to get it all in a camera screen.  We tried to go up to the top but they were sold out until the next Tuesday and we leave on that day.  The dancing waters were beautiful and the first show is at 6 pm and the show does not last long but it is worth watching.  This mall comes equipped with a skating rink and that was interesting because I am use to when I go to a rink which is seldom but in Saskatchewan kids can skate well by and large and all of the Arab kids were quite pathetic but they don’t grow up with a rink or a lake that freezes and you can clean it off and skate on it.  The mall also has the largest indoor aquarium in the world.  It is free to view on the outside which is quite good but my child wanted to walk under the water in the tunnel.  I checked the price and it was ridiculously high for a 5 minute walk under the world’s largest aquarium at 50 dirham.  You could watch for hours because there are sharks, groupers, stingray and a ton of other pretty fish to view.

The array of shops at this mall is quite varied.  There is everything from Louis Vuitton to Armani to H & M to souvenir shops.  One warning is that prices are high.  They advertise that is Dubai the prices for brand name are good but they are not.  Prices for everything from restaurants to grocery stores to malls are overly pricey.  So don’t come here expecting a bargain because you won’t find one anywhere in Dubai.  Unless you are a Sheik or something you will find these prices quite ridiculously high.
