It has been really wonderful fun with the Neufelds here in Thailand.  We have been just hanging out by the pool and the beach and talking up a storm.  I was really missing girlfriend time so Vicky has filled in all those gaps.  Dax is having fun with all of the kids.  We went back into Phuket town and got groceries again and I made the Neufelds a home cooked meal of pork tenderloin and it was yummy.  I had saved a bottle of red wine that I purchased at duty free at the Phuket airport.  Wine is very expensive here so I had to ration it.

Phuket, Thailand

Vicky and I went into Phuket one more time to shop and we had fun.  We actually found a Thai massage place that had great prices but we ran out of time.  At the West Sands that we are staying the Spa services are ridiculously overpriced for Thailand so I still have not had a Thai massage in Thailand.  We shopped for silk but did not luck out on Thai silk either.  I did manage to find some silk scarves for the girlfriends back home and they were 200 baht each which is about the best price that you can find.  Thailand has really escalated its prices since I was here in 2000.  Other than the little roadside restaurants everything is not the Thai prices that you would expect.  Our favourite little restaurant outside the resort has some really cute but dirty dogs wondering around the tables and the main waiter or owner is always just wearing shorts and flipflops.  He has this big belly hanging out and he serves our food.  The food is really good and really cheap.  Each main dish is under 100 baht.  So the 3 families all eat well for about 1400 baht.  Phuket, Thailand is really relaxing and the beach and pool were nice but I don’t think that I need to ever return to Phuket.  I would like to explore the other Thai islands.
