Leaving Bali

I love this country and we will return.  There is nothing really bad to say about Bali.  Perhaps the traffic could be mentioned at this point but realistically there is a plan in the works and the developers are in place with their money to fund an elevated toll highway over the protected mangroves.  This would help an extraordinary amount to help alleviate the traffic woes in Bali.  I could also mention that mosquitoes can be an issue but no more than in Thailand.  The Balinese light these incense coils to keep the mosquitoes at bay and they work.  The people are wonderful and kind.

They are serious about their religion and I really respect that in this lovely bunch of people like the Balinese.  The food is great, the shopping is great and inexpensive, especially the silk.  I would have loved to buy some wooden Balinese doors and some of the large 5 foot Hindu stone heads for my garden.  I bet when Julia Roberts was in Bali filming ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, that she most likely stalked up and purchased whatever her little heart desired.  I unfortunately do not make 20 million per film.  I, like the ordinary people have to pay Julia $11.00 to watch her eat, pray and love.  However, you can do all of those things here in Bali.
