This is a stunning church inside and out and is Hungary’s 2nd largest church.  Dax and I paid the 500 ft’s to walk up the 300 stairs to the top dome.  We were rewarded by the views for all of our exercise.  We had the stairs to ourselves up and down; most people chose the elevator.  Personally that seemed a bit boring so we walked up these ancient circular staircase all the way to the top and we got some creative shots out of it.  Outside the church there is a large walk way that leads to the Danube River and yes the buildings are all beautiful and picture worthy.
We came across the Strudel House which specializes in the traditional strudel recipes and I ordered a spicy paprika (Hungarians love their paprika) chicken strudel as an appetizer and goulash for the meal with bread of course, god it was good.  I had dessert that night too and it was large enough to share with my family; it was some sort of chocolate strudel rum concoction, yum.  I had a glass of very dry re Hungarian wine called ‘ Bok’ and it was excellent.  I highly recommend this one.   I will be looking for this wine in back home in our new wine store downtown in Saskatoon.  This restaurant was a fancy place with the starched white napkins and ambiance and I ate like a queen and it was less than 50 bucks.
