This is a gentlemen’s hotel very formal and friendly and great service.    I am not use to being served so it was all a bit unusual for us.  The hotel is definitely 5 star due to the service and the room which was very comfortable and made a nice little home for us for 6 nights.  It has a great work out facility and the room had a little fridge which is also a godsend when travelling for extended periods.  We always purchased yogurt and bananas etc for breakfasts just to take down the costs of breakfasts and the added weight gain of eating out all of the time.  The Conrad had a traditional type pub restaurant downstairs and we ate there twice and really enjoyed the food and wine.  They had a great business centre that had complimentary internet access and print offs of boarding passes etc.The location of this hotel is paramount; it is kitty corner to St. Stephan’s Square the big park in the city centre.  Everything is within reach of walking or taking the Hop on Hop off bus which tours around to about 20 sites and it is a way for you to see the best of Dublin.  There is really no need to rent a car if you are just doing Dublin.  We should not have because parking at the hotel was an extra 15 pounds per night.  We rented one to get outside of Dublin to Glendalough and the coast etc.
