The Chesterfield Hotel and Suites – Miami Beach, Miami Florida

The Chesterfield Hotel is not a family oriented hotel.  We managed to get this on for 47.00 a night and it is supposed to be a 3 star.  It was evident when we pulled up to the hotel why it was so cheap.  It was 1:30 am and the music was blaring.  There were drunken students all over the place and it was obviously a very hip very happening place.  We arrived extremely late due a late flight so we were the last room to check in.  Unfortunately they no longer had rooms that had two beds so Dax was relegated to the floor.  The clerk at the front desk provided us with lots of bedding to make a comfortable bed on the floor for our son which was nice.  Our room was the closest to the lobby and the music did not stop until 5 am, not even my earplugs could keep out the extremely loud music.  The king size bed was comfortable and the room size was smaller than average being an Art Deco Historic building.  The bathroom had a shower only and no place to put things.  The sink was of a weird concrete design that splashed all over the place so that area around was constantly wet the entire stay.  We also had a walk in closet.  There is a resort fee of 15 which gives you free wifi, beach towels etc.  We walked to the beach and that is only a 5 minute walk because Collins Avenue is only one block off the beach.  They also have a sun terrace with a hot tub on the roof.  This is a groovy little hotel for the younger set, we felt like raisons here and I am only 46 years old.  This place would be getting a thumbs up if I was 20 years younger and not married with a child.
